"Frührehabilitation" (Rehabilitation Unit for Intensive Care):

On this unit we treat patients who, after a very serious injury or illness, still require intensive medical care and supervision. Upon admittance, the patient's condition must be stable enough for rehabilitation to begin. The treatment includes continuous medical supervision, for example, with monitors. A limited number of patients requiring artificial respiration can be admitted. Patients suffering from other, non-neurological injuries or diseases continue to receive appropriate medical care in cooperation with relevant specialized physicians.

"Schwerrehabilitation" (Rehabilitation Unit for Severely Disabled Patients):

Patients admitted to this unit no longer require intensive medical monitoring and therapy. However, they are essentially dependent on the assistance of others in carrying out everyday activities. The patient should possess a level of consciousness that enables him/her to cooperate in the therapies to a certain extent. This unit also is appropriate for treating severely handicapped children or adolescents whose illness or injury is not recent or who suffer from a congenital disorder, if the relief of the illness consequences and an improvement in functioning in everyday life activities can be expected. If desired, a patient's parent, primary care provider or another accompanying person may reside with the patient in a residential unit ("rooming-in" accommodations). Costs must be individually arranged.

 "Allgemeine Rehabilitation" (General Rehabilitation Unit):

In this phase of rehabilitation, the patient should be nearly self-sufficient in carrying out everyday activities (for example, bathing, eating and mobilization). Children aged from about 2 to 15 years are cared for in small, family-like groups within a separate children's unit. Older patients reside in two buildings reserved for adolescents.
