Indications for admission
The Hegau Jugendwerk admits patients suffering from traumatic damage to or
illness of the central and/or peripheral nervous systems. Neuromuscular
disorders as well as attention and learning deficits are also treated. Patients
with the following types of illnesses, injuries or disorders are treated at the
Hegau Jugendwerk:
- brain trauma
- cerebrovascular accidents (ischemic strokes, brain
hemorrhage) and other vascular disorders of the brain
- meningitis, encephalitis, multiple sclerosis, and
other infectious or immunological diseases of the nervous system
- all other acquired brain and spinal cord lesions and
their resulting disabilities high spinal cord injures (resulting in
quadriplegia)
- lesions to the central nervous system stemming from
congenital/developmental disorders, for example, spina bifida and cerebral
palsy
- epileptic disorders diseases or injuries of the
peripheral nervous system (neuro)muscular diseases
- degenerative and metabolic-related diseases of the
nervous system
- reduced or impaired performance in school due to
neuropsychological deficits
- attention disorders, for example, attention deficit disorder (ADD) or
attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
